In-Patient Unit
The Hospice has 10 In-Patient Unit beds; all the rooms are single, ensuite with TV/DVD and telephone.
Patients are admitted following a referral to the Hospice by their General Practitioner, hospital doctor or Macmillan Nurse.

Requests for admission are discussed at the weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting. Admissions are arranged for weekdays and only in special circumstances are patients admitted at the weekend.
The Hospice does not have formal visiting times. However, we do ask relatives and friends to be aware that patients need their rest and could become overtired if they are overwhelmed by large numbers of visitors. Staff will advise accordingly. Children may visit, accompanied by an adult. Pets may visit by prior arrangement but must be kept under supervision.

Patients are allowed to smoke in a specially assigned room between the hours of 7am and 11pm.
Our experienced catering team offer a variety of food and will cater for special dietary requirements.
