The Recruitment Process

The Volunteers' Office at St. Rocco's is staffed by the Voluntary Services Manager, Julia Kindon, and the Volunteers' Office Administrator, Karen Pownall. They are here to help you find a suitable role and guide you through the recruitment process. They also manage the voluntary services for the Hospice and organise training and development for volunteers.

The minimum age for a volunteer is 16 ( after year 11 for those wishing to work with patients). Otherwise, the only other criteria are that volunteers must be in good health and physically capable of undertaking the designated duty . All volunteers must be registered for insurance purposes.

St. Rocco's Hospice operates an Equal Opportunities policy and applications are welcomed from all sections of the community .

1. Complete an Application Form

2. Return the form.
When the application is processed you will be invited for an informal interview.

3. Appropriate roles are discussed and, for volunteers working with patients, a CRB check will be done.

4. If successful, duties are allocated and induction and training given.
