HRH The Countess of Wessex visits St. Rocco's Hospice

The 18th November 2009 was a very exciting day at St. Rocco's Hospice and one which will be remembered for many years. Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex visited the Hospice and spent time meeting and talking to patients, their visitors, staff and volunteers both on the In-patient Unit and in the Day Unit.

The Countess was eager to see all our facilities and to hear about the services we offer to patients as well as the future developments we hope to achieve.

Mr Roger Morey, our Project Manager who has overseen the building of the In-patient Unit, Day Unit and new Education suite was presented to Her Royal Highness and she was also invited to meet the architect of the three buildings, Mr. Roy Davies.

Before leaving the hospice , The Countess unveiled a plaque and signed the 'Visitors Book' to commemorate her visit. All the patients, volunteers and staff who met the Countess said how much they had enjoyed meeting her and how interested she was in hospice care.
