Sunflowers for St. Rocco's

A brightly coloured sea of everlasting sunflowers is what everyone will notice as they pass by Warrington Town Hall at the end of May and beginning of June.

This is our hope here at St. Rocco’s as we invite people to dedicate a sunflower to celebrate the life of a loved one in return for a donation to support our patients and families.

Margaret - Sunflowers 2017

For Margaret, who volunteers to help out in our gardens, sunflowers are a very special flower,

“I love sunflowers and so did my daughter, Johanne. When Johanne was ill we both benefitted enormously from visiting St. Rocco’s for complementary therapy sessions. It gave us both the time and space to come terms with things in a supportive environment where people understood what was happening. St. Rocco’s has lots to offer both patients and their families to help to get the most out of every day.

It’s now just over six years since we lost Johanne, but sunflowers still play such an important part in our lives – we grow them every year to remind us of her. In fact, I have only just sown my seeds for this summer.”

We’re inviting everyone to join Margaret to dedicate an everlasting sunflower to celebrate anyone special to them  - they don’t have to have been a patient at St. Rocco’s. At the end of May and start of June the sunflowers will form a bright sea of yellow for all of us to see and enjoy.

In return everyone will receive a commemorative card and, once the display finishes, the sunflowers will be available as a lasting keepsake.

By dedicating a St. Rocco’s sunflower you will be helping to ensure that others who find themselves in a similar situation to Margaret and her family will be able to turn to St. Rocco’s for help when they need it most.

Dedicate your own sunflower.
