'With a Little Help from my Friends!'

This famous Beatles number was sung by the Warrington Rock Choir at our annual volunteers’ gathering at the before Easter.

It is certainly true that without the skills, talents, time and energy given by our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to continue to look after those in our community that need us at such a difficult time in their lives.

We are grateful to every volunteer, whether they have been with us for a long or short time, and a number of awards for service, ranging from two years’ upwards were presented by the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Faisal Rashid, who himself volunteers as a Trustee at St. Rocco’s.

We would like to say thank you and congratulations to everyone, especially Betty Hughes from our Lymm shop and Christine Greenwood from our Longford St. shop who have been volunteering for St. Rocco’s for thirty years. Both were presented with their lifetime achievement awards by the Mayor.

Our Chair of Trustees, Norman Banner, whose term of office ends in the Autumn, was also presented with an award in recognition of the nine years that he has served volunteering in that role.

The evening was rounded off with the lively performance from the Warrington Rock Choir which had everyone tapping their toes and was very enjoyable!

Thank you to everyone who came and to those volunteers who were unable to attend – you are all very much appreciated.
