This is his first appointment as a Patron since taking up his seat in the House of Commons in June. Mr Rashid’s relationship with St. Rocco's is a long-standing one. He joined the Board of Trustees 5 years ago during his time as a local councillor, bringing his professional experience in banking to bear sitting on the Finance Sub-Committee.

Faisal RashidDuring his tenure as Mayor of Warrington he continued to support St. Rocco’s Hospice, alongside many other Warrington charities. As well as selecting the hospice to be one of his chosen charities of the year, he attended many key events, often speaking passionately of the importance of the care that St. Rocco’s offers to those living with a terminal illness.

“Faisal has shown outstanding support for St. Rocco’s both during his time as Mayor of Warrington and through his years of service as a Trustee and we felt that it was appropriate to continue the relationship by inviting him to become a Patron,” said Norman Banner, Chair of the Board of Trustees at St. Rocco’s. “He understands the role that St. Rocco’s plays in the life of the local community and we hope that he will become a strong advocate for the hospice movement generally in the House of Commons.”

“I have greatly enjoyed being part of the team at St. Rocco’s and, as the MP for Warrington South, I appreciate the opportunity to continue my association with an organisation which cares for members of our community and their families through such a difficult time in their lives. My time as a Trustee will place me in an ideal position to speak with experience whenever matters regarding hospice care arise in the House of Commons.”
