Emily, Karen, Josie & Megan will all be taking part in this year's Starlight Ladies Walk

Josie Harris will set off with hundreds of other women from the Orford Jubilee Hub on Friday 21^st June with her daughter Karen and two granddaughters Megan and Emily in memory of their good family friend Chris.

“I used to visit Chris a lot whilst she was staying at St. Rocco’s. It’s an amazing place – nothing was too much trouble. I think it must be a very special kind of person who decides to work there. Everyone is so lovely.”

“Chris was a fantastic friend to our family. We met years ago when we both played netball for the Warrington league. She was a netball coach for Cheshire and had lots of friends through the sport. She coached both of my granddaughters who will be walking with me and my daughter in this year’s Starlight Ladies Walk.”

Although Chris was staying on the inpatient unit last summer she was determined that she would take part in the walk alongside many of her netballing friends and colleagues to help raise funds for the hospice where she was being looked after. It was an amazing night and Chris was thrilled to finish her lap and, along with her fellow netballers, support St. Rocco’s.

“None of us have ever taken part in the Starlight Walk before – I was on holiday last year when Chris walked. But we are very much looking forward to it this year and hoping to carry on from Chris last year by raising lots of money for such a wonderful place that took such good care of my dear friend.”
