Sam bought along Gil Dudson, Zane Musgrove, Josh Thewlis and Luke Thomas along with other members of the rugby club.  They arrived at the hospice with treats to donate as part of their drive to support the community.

During their visit, the players had a tour of the hospice, met some of the patients on the ward and chatted to staff about the care that is offered by St Rocco’s across Warrington.

Gemma, Marketing and Communications Manager at St Rocco’s said, “The team were really interested in the work that we do and seemed amazed at how many patients we help across Warrington through our various services, like the virtual ward, hospice at home as well as the craft group and complementary therapy.”

The team visited the hospice as part of their Community Blitz initiative.  Phil Chadwick, representative for the club said, “I have been to a lot of the hospice events before and I know St. Rocco’s really well.  Our fans and the Warrington community only see what the players do in the 80 minutes of the rugby game, and they are often judged on just that performance.  Over the years that I have worked with Warrington Wolves, I have never met a player who wasn’t a nice person.  We love to support local charities like St Rocco’s and the players want to get involved and have a real willingness and drive to help community initiatives.”
