We know that, even if you have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, sometimes all you want to do is get on with your life in the best way that you can. At the Vitality Centre we are here to support you to do just that.

It is our aim to provide care that enables patients, as far as possible, to lead their lives in the way that they would wish.The Vitality Centre is staffed by a multi-skilled team, including volunteers. We provide a variety of services to meet the needs of as many people and their families living with a life-limiting condition in our community as we can. The Vitality Centre also helps by signposting patients and carers to other services which could help them.
We see the services we offer as vital in enabling you and your family to live positively with your condition.
What is on Offer?
The Vitality Centre provides a sessional rolling programme based on a 4- 6 week timetable. There are both individual and group sessions, depending on the type of service you need.

How do Patients/Carers Get Referred?
Patients and carers can self-refer or be referred by healthcare professionals*. GPs are kept fully informed of any services that we provide to you and it is your GP who retains overall care for you.
*Please note that for medical outpatientclinics, referrals are made by GPs or otherhealthcare professionals.
If you have been referred, completed your treatment and been discharged, there is no problem in being re-referred if your condition changes.
Telephone Support Hub
Your GP may speak with you about giving your permission to share your details with us so that we can contact you via our Telephone Support Hub.This will allow us to keep in touch with you at regular intervals to discuss with you what support we can offer that may be helpful to you, depending on your symptoms and how your illness is affecting you. Our aim is to support you by suggesting those of our services which will work best for you at any given time.
What about carers or family members?
Looking after someone who is ill has its own set of stresses. That is why we also offer sessions including relaxation, complementary therapies and mindfulness to carers and family members.
Friday Coffee & Cake at the Castle
A weekly session in our café/dining room for patients and carers to find out more about us. It offers the opportunity to meet up with others on a similar journey. We also arrange occasional talks and demonstrations on relevant topics. Our bereavement support group also takes place on the last Friday afternoon of every month.
When can I come?
The Vitality Centre offers a sessional based programme. When you are referred or refer yourself, we will talk to you and decide with you what would be most appropriate. We will then arrange an appointment date for you or let you know the starting date of the next sessions, depending on what you need. Our drop-in sessions on a Friday are open to anyone, so you are welcome to attend these immediately. We will work in partnership with you to ensure that, as far as possible, you are getting the most benefit from, and accessing, those of our services that can help you the most.
Where is the Vitality Centre?
We are located in a purpose-built facility not far from Warrington Hospital. There is a café/dining room, a lounge, craft/therapeutic room, relaxation area, consulting rooms for physiotherapy and complementary therapies and counselling rooms. Our building is welcoming, light and airy and also has a lovely garden with raised beds. If you would like to take a look around and find out more about how we can help, then just come along to our Friday drop-in session where there is always someone on hand to show you round and tell you more.
