At St. Rocco’s, hundreds come together every December, as part of Light up a Life, to remember people that they love by dedicating a light in their honour on our Hospice Tree.
You may want to remember someone who has died and is forever in your thoughts. Or you can remember someone living away from home who you may be missing as the year draws to a close.
You will receive a commemorative card with your loved one’s name and it will also appear in our Book of Honour* which is on display here at St. Rocco's over the Christmas period. It is also available to view online after Christmas.
We also invite you to join us at one of our special dedication ceremonies.
This year there are two services:
- Sunday 1st December, 4pm at St. Rocco's Hospice
- Thursday 5th December, 7pm at St. Elphin's Church, Warrington
During both dedication services our Christmas tree will be illuminated. The Book of Honour* will be available to view at each service.
Light up a Life is for everyone, regardless of faith or culture. It is for people who do not have a direct connection to St. Rocco’s as well as for those who do. It provides us all with a unique opportunity to come together as a community to remember those we love. Everyone receives a warm welcome in a place where your feelings are understood. Staff and volunteers are on hand to listen and support if needed.
By taking part, your support also ensures that essential funds are raised so that we can continue looking after patients and their families when they really need our help.
*Please note that any dedications received after Thursday 28th November will be added to the Book of Honour after both of the services.
