Elephant in the Room

What are memory Elephants?

Our Memory Elephants are soft keepsakes, which are made using clothing of a loved one who is sadly no longer with us.

As well as being a unique way of remembering and treasuring a loved one, this project also hopes to encourage conversations about death and dying — dealing with the Elephant in the Room.

We also kindly ask for a suggested donation of £25 towards patient care at St. Rocco's Hospice.

How does it work?

We have a team of wonderful volunteers who meet in the craft room in the Vitality Centre at St. Rocco's Hospice, and are committed to each and every elephant they create.

If you are interested in ordering an Elephant you'll need to complete the Registration of Interest form, which will be available shortly.

We will then be in touch and invite you into the Hospice to bring the clothing in and meet a member of our fundraising team.

Please note that we can't guarantee a time that your Elephant will be made, as we will be managing the amount of orders along with the capacity of our team of volunteers, however we will keep you updated, and we can guarantee that your elephant will be made with love.

Volunteers Needed!

If you have sewing skills and a creative ability to become part of our volunteer team who creates our elephants, we would love to hear from you.

Our volunteers meet on a weekly basis at St. Rocco's and we would love to make our team bigger.

If you're interested, then please complete the Volunteer Form.
