Knit-a-chick

Calling all knitters! We’re looking for knitters from all over Warrington to join our Knit-a-Chick campaign for St. Rocco’s.

All you need to do is click here to download the pattern and drop off any chicks that you’ve made at the Hospice or post them to: Fundraising Department, St. Rocco’s Hospice, Lockton Lane, Bewsey, Warrington WA5 0BW.

What is Knit-a-chick?

For any keen knitter these chicks are relatively easy to make, and are a very popular gift to buy over the Easter period. Over the last two years we have been inundated with little knitted friends - so thanks to everyone who got involved either by hand-knitting an Easter friend, donating crème eggs or buying a knitted chick,

Your contributions helped us to raise over £1,000 towards patient care at St. Rocco’s Hospice. Thanks you so much!

In 2020 we’re hoping to add to this total, so spread the word and please pass on the pattern to fellow knitters who might like to get involved. The more chicks we have the more money we can raise for St. Rocco’s.

The hand-crafted chicks will then be sold in local businesses, as well as the Hospice reception. If you would like to sell our knitted chicks in your business or work place please get in touch with our fundraising team.

Not a knitter? Each chick needs be filled with a chocolate crème egg before they can be sold, so why not get involved and support our Easter campaign by donating a box of crème eggs or two.

When

Please donate chicks before Friday 20th March 2020

Why

To raise money for St. Rocco’s Hospice which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses in Warrington. St. Rocco’s offers care and support for patients and families within the Hospice, as well as through our Hospice at Home and Family Support services. We rely on the local community for over 75% of our funding, so getting involved in our Knit-a-Chick appeal 2020 is a great way to support St. Rocco’s Hospice!
