Each December, St Rocco’s Hospice invites everyone to join them in remembering a loved one as part of Light up a Life, by dedicating a light in their honour on our Hospice Tree.
You may want to remember someone who has died and is forever in your thoughts. Or you can remember someone living away from home who you may be missing.
Light up a Life 2021 aims to provide everyone with that chance to remember, whether they were cared for here at St Rocco’s or elsewhere, Light up a life is for everyone who wishes to remember someone in this way.
Due to the ongoing Covid situation we will once again be broadcasting the Light up a Life ceremony on our website rather than holding in-person services. This will be broadcast via our website on Sunday 5th December at 4pm.
The lights here on the hospice tree will be turned on to shine throughout the festive period.
If you choose to dedicate a light on our real tree you will receive a commemorative card with your loved one’s name. Dedications on our real and virtual tree will also appear in our Book of Honour* which is on display here at St. Rocco's over the Christmas period. This year’s book will be available to view online at stroccos.org.uk after Christmas. The names will also be listed at the end of the online service.
Light up a Life is for everyone, regardless of faith or culture. It is for people who do not have a direct connection to St. Rocco’s as well as for those who do. It provides us all with a unique opportunity to come together as a community to remember those we love.
By taking part, your support also ensures that essential funds are raised so that we can continue looking after patients and their families when they really need our help.
