We know how hard it can be to suddenly find yourself as a full time carer for a loved one. You can find that life is suddenly very different and there can be a lot to take in and understand. You may even perhaps be trying to hide how you may be feeling from your loved one who is ill or from other members of your family and friends.
Our care is not just for patients; we look after those close to them as well.
There are a number of ways in which we can support you or help you find the support you need, such as:
Our Counselling and Emotional Care Team can support you as you come to terms with things and are here for those needing further support after someone dies.
Complementary Therapy Sessions
A course of complementary therapy sessions such as reflexology or aromatherapy can really help you to relax and it also gives you much needed time to concentrate on you for a little while.
We run relaxation sessions for carers or for patients and carers together.
Rocco's on your Doorstep
This scheme pairs up specially trained volunteers with patients. The volunteer provides time with patients, either taking them out for a coffee or a bit of shopping, or to stay and have a chat whilst you pop out for an hour or two. Feedback from this service is always really positive from both patients and carers and from our volunteers. Find out more
