English Half Marathon 2019
We’re delighted to announce that we have FREE places in the English Half Marathon 2019!
We’re looking for runners of any ability to join Team Rocco this September in the English Half Marathon.
Once again, St. Rocco’s has places in both the Half Marathon and 10k Road Race, and these places are free to anyone who would like to represent St. Rocco’s and help us to raise vital funds to support our patients and families.
All we ask for in return for a half marathon place is that you pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship target of £200, and for a 10k the minimum you need to raise is £150.
We also have places in the 5k Night Run on Friday 13th September 2019, and the WireFM Family Mile at 12.45pm on Sunday 15th September.
The minimum fundraising target for the 5K is £30, and for the Family Mile it’s £20.
If you'd like to take up one of our places in any of the events but would rather not raise sponsorship, you can always make a donation for the amount listed for that event instead. This not only covers the cost of your place, but also contributes towards patient care at St. Rocco’s Hospice.
Friday 13th September 2019 - 5K Night Run
Sunday 15th September 2019 - 10K, Half Marathon, Wire FM Family Mile
The English Half Marathon begins at Bank Park, leading onto the Cantilever Bridge, and looping around Grappenhall before taking you back over the bridge, into the town centre and through the Wolves Stadium before finishing at the Golden Gates!
The 10K Road Race follows a similar route, incorporating Bridge Foot, the Town Centre and Golden Gates, and places for both events are available to you.
The WireFM mile is a great chance to get the whole family involved, and start inspiring those mini Rocco’s Runners of the future.
The 5k Night Run takes place the night before the main event, at Victoria Park, and is the perfect opportunity to show off your luminous Rocco’s Runners vest.
To raise money to help your local hospice care for people with life-limiting illnesses in Warrington. St. Rocco’s offers care and support for patients and families through our Vitality Centre, our inpatient unit, as well in the community as through our Hospice at Home and Family Support services.
Our care is free to our patients and families but it costs £3.6million a year to keep running and, as a registered charity, we rely on the local community for over 75% of our funding, so taking part in the English Half Marathon and raising sponsorship is a great way to help us to support our patients and their families! You will be taking place in an event in Warrington and helping members of your local community at the same time!
Once you have registered and have been allocated a place, you will receive a Fundraising Pack including an official St. Rocco’s running vest and various fundraising materials. The fundraising team will also be on hand leading up to the event to support you as much as possible with your fundraising.
All Rocco’s Runners will also receive a finishers T-shirt and medal! We will also be there on the day to show our support and cheer you on!
If you have any queries about our EHM places please just get in touch with Katie in the fundraising team on 01925 575780 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
