I signed up for Ultra White Collar Boxing because I wanted to get fit, but I never imagined just how much the experience would change me.
One of my friends had taken part previously, and hearing about their experience inspired me to give it a go myself. I saw it as an opportunity to get fitter, meet new people and, most importantly, push myself outside of my comfort zone.
I chose to raise money for St. Rocco’s Hospice, a charity that is very close to home in Warrington. St Rocco’s provides incredible care and support to people living with life-limiting conditions, helping to make sure they are comfortable and receive the best possible care. The hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising to continue the amazing work it does.
St. Rocco’s is such an important part of the Warrington community, and so many people have a personal connection to the hospice through friends or family members who have received its care. Many of my friends also take part in fundraising events for St. Rocco’s, so it felt like the perfect charity for me to support.

The training was hard. It was physically demanding and definitely tested me, both mentally and physically. There were times when it would have been easier to take a step back, but I reminded myself that if you want to see results, you have to put the work in.
And the hard work really did pay off.
I lost weight, got into great shape and, perhaps most importantly, gained so much more confidence in myself. The experience taught me that stepping outside your comfort zone can be challenging, but the feeling you get when you realise what you're capable of is incredible.
By the time fight night arrived, I wasn't just proud of how far I'd come physically. I was proud that I had committed to something completely outside my comfort zone and given it everything I had.
Along the way, I met some amazing people and shared an experience that I will never forget. Together, we pushed ourselves, supported one another, and raised money for some incredible causes.
I'm incredibly proud to have raised £1,285 for St. Rocco’s Hospice, and knowing that the money will help support the amazing work they do makes the whole experience even more worthwhile.
If you're thinking about taking part, my advice is simple: give it your all and get really involved. Don't just rely on the training sessions — put the extra work in, stay committed, and make the most of the whole experience.
You might surprise yourself with what you're capable of.
For me, Ultra White Collar Boxing wasn't just about stepping into a ring. It was about challenging myself, becoming fitter and more confident, meeting great people, and raising money for an excellent cause.
An amazing experience with great people, all for an excellent cause.
