Mission Statement
'St. Rocco's Hospice aims to provide quality care and support for our patients, and their families
and friends, so that each person is enabled to find comfort, hope, strength and peace'
Facilities
St. Rocco’s helps hundreds of patients and their families in Warrington each year, providing clinical treatment, emotional and spiritual support , symptom control, nursing care and complementary therapies all in a purpose built environment.
Our In-Patient Unit has 10 en-suite rooms offering short stay accommodation

We have a high ratio of specially trained nurses to patients allowing time for each patient and high quality nursing care.

Our 15 place Day Hospice offers numerous facilities, including complementary therapies, arts and crafts, relaxation and support.

The Family Support Team helps patients and their families with practical and emotional issues

Our team of doctors ensure specialist symptom control both in the Day Hospice and on the In Patient unit
All these services are offered to patients completely free of charge in an atmosphere of love and care.
Management
The Hospice Clinical Team is supported by a small administrative and fundraising team. A large number of volunteers work in a variety of roles in all Departments. The Hospice management team reports formally to the Hospice Trustees seven times a year.
Funding
The running costs at St. Rocco’s Hospice are currently around £2 million per annum. Most of our funds are generated by the local community from sources such as fundraising events (e.g. the Starlight Walk,) generous corporate and community donations, legacies, the Hospice shops, a local lottery and Gift Aid tax relief . NHS Warrington (formerly Warrington Primary Care Trust) also contributes to the Hospice income.
Our Future Plans
Currently, St. Rocco’s Day Hospice caters for up to 15 patients per day. The facilities we have allow us to give emotional and clinical support to patients and to offer a range of therapies, as well as support to families. The typical age of a Day Hospice patient is 45, so a great deal of support is needed for both patient and family. However, our services are in such demand that we now urgently need to increase the number of places in the Day Hospice to 25 per day. Our current expansion will provide a wider range of services, including complementary therapies, occupational therapy and support for carers.
Your support for St. Rocco’s will help to fund this expansion, which is due to be built by Spring 2009. The expansion will mean our services can be offered to even more people so that ultimately, terminally ill patients in Warrington can achieve a better quality of life.
