St. Rocco’s offers a wide range of emotional support to patients and their families. We can arrange one to one counselling or you can come along to one of  our support groups.

Counselling

We can provide a free and confidential counselling service to adult patients, their families, friends and carers.

The diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or the death of a family member of friend can be devastating, and may bring about stronger emotions than you have previously experienced or expected. For some people counselling can help with inderstanding the complexity of feelings they experience.

Counselling provides a private and confidential space to explore and make sense of thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgement. If you are eligible you will be offered an initial six sessions lasting for fifty minutes each with one of our trained counsellors.

Bereavement cafe

The cafes are a chance for those living with any kind of bereavement to chat to our Counselling and Emotional Care team and our volunteers about the help and support that can be provided by St. Rocco's. All are welcome to both cafes and both run as a drop-in service.

The cafes are held here, at the Hospice, on the last Friday of every month 1pm-3pm.

We also hold a cafe at the Pavilion in Alexandra Park, Stockton Heath every second Thursday of the month, 9.30am-11.
