Staying in our IPU
Many people tell us that staying in our In-Patient Unit feels very different from being in a hospital. From the moment you arrive, you'll find a welcoming, comfortable environment designed to help you feel at ease.
Our bright and spacious In-Patient Unit is built around a peaceful internal courtyard with seating areas and access to our beautiful hospice gardens. We have 10 private ensuite bedrooms, each overlooking the gardens, some with French doors, and equipped with a comfortable reclining chair, television, and guest Wi-Fi so you can stay connected with family and friends using your phone, tablet, or other devices.
We want everyone who stays with us to feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Our airy communal lounge provides a welcoming space where patients and visitors can spend time together and make drinks. Large double doors open onto an outdoor seating area, allowing beds to be wheeled outside so patients can enjoy fresh air and sunshine when they wish.
Our dedicated volunteers help create a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the hospice. Fresh flowers brighten our spaces, and volunteers are always on hand to offer drinks, snacks, and support whenever needed.
When people are unwell, this can quite often have an effect on their appetite. Our catering team provides nutritious, home-cooked food and are happy to create meals for specific dietary requirements. They take great pride in catering for the individual needs of those staying with us.
"I feel I cannot thank you enough for the loving care that I have received from you all over the past two weeks. I am certainly going home in a much better state than when I arrived, and I shall remember you all for your kindness."
