Gear up for an adventure and climb England and Wales’ highest mountain…in the dark!

Standing at 1085m, Snowdon is a popular trek by day, and forms an unforgettable experience by night. Snowdonia National Park is recognised as an International Dark Sky Reserve, offering a rare opportunity to escape the light pollution and soak up the magic of the mountain under the stars.

You’ll be accompanied by other fellow adventurers, as well as an expert Mountain Leader from Discover Adventure to lead the way. As you stand on the summit under the moonlight, you’ll take in the views knowing that your efforts are helping St. Rocco’s Hospice to continue providing vital end of life care, for those who need it most.

Challenge Itinerary

You'll meet in Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, then after a briefing and hot drink, set off at night with head-torches. You’ll follow the gradual Llanberis Path, passing alongside the railway, with one steep start before an easier climb. Trekking in the dark offers a quiet, remote atmosphere and clear night skies. After the Halfway House, the path steepens, leading past a railway bridge and trail junction before reaching the 1,085m summit—an impressive 900m ascent.

Ascent approx. 5-7 hours; descent approx. 2-3 hours

Full Payment Option

Then £200 (£225 in 2027) to Discover Adventure 8 weeks before departure
