Meet Eleanor Dailey
What inspired you to take part in support of St. Rocco’s this year?
Earlier this year, my Nana received respite care from St. Rocco’s Hospice. Seeing first-hand the compassion, kindness, and support that the staff and volunteers gave not only to my nana but to my family, made me realise just how incredible the hospice is. Taking part in Strictly St. Rocco’s is my way of saying thank you and giving something back to a charity that means so much to us. It’s a challenge that’s definitely outside my comfort zone, but if I can help raise money so that other families receive the same amazing care and support, then it’ll all be worthwhile.
What is your previous dancing experience, and how are you feeling about dancing?
My love for dance began at the age of four when I started training in ballet and pointe. Those early years gave me a great foundation and sparked a passion for dancing that has stayed with me ever since. Although it’s been quite some time since I last put on my dancing shoes, I’m excited to return to the dance floor and learn a completely new style of dance.
I’ve also grown up watching BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with my mum every year, so having the opportunity to be part of St. Rocco’s Strictly is incredibly special. I’m looking forward to embracing the challenge, making some unforgettable memories.
What are you most looking forward to about the Strictly experience?
I’m most excited for the build-up over the coming months, from learning a new style of dance and spending time in rehearsals to organising fundraising events where family and friends get together.
I can’t wait to see everything come together on the night – getting glammed and putting on my glitzy outfit. I know it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’ll always remember.
What song always gets you up and dancing?
Anything Whitney Houston but ‘How Will I Know’ will get me on karaoke every time!
