Meet Steph Taylor

Why did you decide to support St. Rocco’s?

Last year, I entered the Strictly St Rocco’s competition because I wanted to take on a new challenge and learn something new. It felt right that it was for St. Rocco’s, and I knew I could raise some money to support the brilliant work that goes on there. St. Rocco’s has supported many of my friends over the years, and I know my own family may need that support too in the future. Unfortunately, my dancing journey was cut short last year, only 6 weeks away from the competition, when I broke my foot while tripping over a dog toy! Luckily, St. Rocco’s has let me take part again this year.

What is your previous dancing experience, and how are you feeling about dancing?

Apart from the few lessons last year, before I broke my foot, I don't have any professional dancing experience. I enjoy going out with my friends and having a dance, but that’s it. I’m both nervous and excited about learning a new dance again and ready to give it 100% and more. I’ve been listening to loads of new songs and can't wait to hear what dance I will get to do this time.

What are you hoping the experience of dancing for St. Rocco’s is going to be like?

I know it's going to be both brilliant and tough at times, but I'm massively aware of how valuable St. Rocco’s is to our town, and I’m proud to be playing my part. I hosted some great fundraising events last year, including a very cheeky ‘Paint and Sip’ night and Bedlam Bingo. This year I've got some more special and fun events planned, including the return of Beldam Bingo Night in October at Eagle Sports Club, Penketh.

What song always gets you up on the dance floor?

My kids will tell you I absolutely love the Killers, Mr Brightside!
