Bereavement Cafes

Our care doesn't stop after your loved one dies.

The St. Rocco’s Community Bereavement Cafes are open to all who are grieving and suffering after the loss of a loved one.

Although bereavement touches everyone at some time, support and understanding can help during one of life’s more difficult and lonely periods. At St. Rocco’s we offer that support and understanding through our two cafes.

However long you have been grieving our cafes will offer you a warm welcome. The St. Rocco’s Counselling and Emotional Care Team with volunteers are there to listen. You can choose to talk one to one with a volunteer or talk to others with a similar bereavement in an informal and safe environment.

The cafes are free and open for anyone to ‘Drop-In’, a referral or pre-booking is not needed.

We look forward to seeing you for coffee and cake at our next café.

Other Activities

There are different ways of getting involved that carers have told us have been helpful to be involved in. These include:

  • Gardening Club

      • The gardening club meets once a week, come rain or shine, to work in the hospice gardens. It is for anyone who thinks they might benefit from being in the fresh air and the camaraderie of gardening in a group. Please call 0333 3661066 for more information
  • St. Rocco's Community Choir

    • This is for patients, carers, volunteers, staff or anyone who loves singing. The choir is led by former secondary school head of music and meets once a week. They also perform at hospice events. There is a real sense of community about the choir and new members are always welcome. Please call 0333 3661066 for more information.
