The campaign was a huge success with all solicitors reporting a significant demand for appointments. The total raised so far stands at over £3,000 with more donations due to be sent over to the charity in the coming weeks.
We spoke to Nicola who chose to make her Will during this campaign, “I had never made a Will before; it was just something I never got round to. But I knew how important it was to make sure my children would be looked after if anything was to happen to me. When I saw that I could support St. Rocco’s by making a Will, it was the push I needed to sort it.
St. Rocco’s cared for my grandma a few years ago and I still remember the amazing treatment and kindness she received and the way the nurses and volunteers supported our family during her time in the Hospice. My grandma was a teacher in Warrington for many years before becoming a Headmistress so had dedicated her life to helping others. It was so reassuring to see this help returned to her when she needed it most and I will always be grateful for that.
Making a Will was so much easier than I thought it would be. The solicitor took time to listen to my wishes and explain how the process works. She explained everything in a way I could understand and talked through some different options. I also made the decision to leave a gift to St. Rocco’s in my Will as I know this is an important way they are funded.”
This campaign would not have been successful without the partnership and kindness of the three solicitors that gave up their time to help us: Watsons Solicitors, Fiona Bruce Solicitors and Cribbin Solicitors. We are grateful for their ongoing support.
For anyone who was unable to secure an appointment in May or would like to support this campaign in the future, there will be another opportunity to take part in Make a Will month in October. Further details will be shared closer to the time.
