Background:
I have a diverse background in clinical, operational, and transformational leadership roles, having worked across various community healthcare providers and prior to joining St. Rocco’s serving as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester for a short time.
How many years have you worked at St. Rocco’s?
I have been CEO at St. Rocco's for four years.
What made you want to work at St. Rocco’s?
My interest in palliative and end-of-life care developed during my time as a district nurse, where I had the opportunity to work for and achieve an MSc in Advanced Practice in the field. Local to Warrington, I am passionate about working closely with the community to ensure palliative and end-of-life care remain a priority. Working at St Rocco’s is a privilege whilst also drawing on my experience and fulfilling my area of interest.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself
I love all things horses, and I have been lucky enough to have had some fabulous experiences competing in both show-jumping and eventing. Some of my best memories are being part of the Prince Phillip Cup gymkhana team, when I look back now, though it terrifies me!

Sara Black
Chief Operating Officer
Name: Sara Black

Background:
I began my career as a newly qualified Community Staff Nurse Leeds Community Healthcare Trust and moved to Warrington in 2007 where I progressed and in 2010 earned a BSc Hons Specialist Practitioner Qualification. I am a compassionate leader dedicated to supporting high-performing teams and driving system priorities. I am passionate about partnership working and delivery of high-quality Palliative and End of Life Care.
How man years have you worked at St. Rocco’s?
I commenced in post at St Rocco’s Hospice February 14th 2022.
What made you want to work at St. Rocco’s?
During my time working in the community, I developed a passion for community and palliative care resulting in me being responsible for leading integrated, district nursing teams across four areas of Warrington, including the out-of-hours service.

Catherine Vannerem-Martin
Director of Finance and Corporate Governance
Name: Catherine Vannerem-Martin
Job Role: Director of Finance and Corporate Governance
Background:
I started my career in audit and accountancy, after earning a degree in Economics and practicing with various firms for 10 years. Since joining St. Rocco’s in 2004, I have worked closely with Warrington Health Commissioners as a non-executive director of Warrington Primary Care Trust. I also took on roles at Priestley College and Bridgewater High School, teaching students’ business, finance, and languages in the past.
How many years have you worked at St. Rocco’s?
I have worked here for 21 years.
What made you want to work at St. Rocco’s?
Patient care and long-term sustainability are at the heart of my work, and I have a passion for supporting Palliative care.

I enjoy flower arranging.

Dr. Esraa Sulaivany
Medical Director and Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Name: Dr. Esraa Sulaivany, MBChB, FRCP, PG Dip Pall Med
Job Role: Medical Director & Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Background:
Dr Sulaivany is an experienced palliative medicine physician and the medical director at St Rocco’s hospice with a deep commitment to providing compassionate patient centred end of life care to Warrington community. She is actively involved and lead on medical education, mentoring junior doctors, and other HCP, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives in end of life care locally, regionally and nationally

I have worked at St. Rocco's for 19 years.
What made you want to work at St. Rocco’s?
My career passion was specialising in palliative care, I was drawn to the hospice because of its strong reputation, patient centred care. Being part of St. Rocco’s means contributing to the legacy of excellence in palliative care, supporting families and helping shape the future of palliative medicine

I love spending time outdoors especially walking and hiking.
