Hospice Volunteer

We have several roles available here at the hospice, whether it's assisting our domestic team with catering and laundry services, or lending a hand to our Maintenance Team around the hospice grounds, there's an opportunity for everyone. 

Catering Support Volunteer

As a Catering Support Volunteer, you will be supporting us to ensure we are delivering the best care to our patients and our hospice areas remain clean and tidy. This role involves:

• Preparing meals for patients, visitors, and staff
• Ensuring surfaces are kept clean in our main kitchen area 
• Checking and rotating stock in our main hospice fridge
• Ensuring beverage kitchens are kept tidy and supporting with restocking contents in these areas

Domestic Assistant Support Volunteer

As a Domestic Assistant Support Volunteer, you will be supporting our Domestic Team to ensure our hospice areas are kept tidy for our visitors, staff, and fellow volunteers. This role involves:

• Ensuring areas are kept clean through light housework
• Cleaning and vacuuming of hospice areas, including our In Patient Unit and offices

Laundry Helper

As a Laundry Helper, you will be supporting the Domestic Team to provide a laundry service, ensuring there is always a supply of clean linen for the hospice. This role involves:

• Loading and unloading laundry into our machines
• Support with ironing linen

Maintenance Volunteer

As a Maintenance Volunteer, you will be supporting our Maintenance Team with the general upkeep of St. Rocco's and the day-to-day needs of the hospice's facilities. This role involves:

• Assisting with general day-to-day facilities maintenance needs
• Assisting with undertaking scheduled checks of equipment and facilities
• To assist with regular routine checks of the hospice vehicles
