Meet Beth Allison, Fundraising Assistant

image

Name: Beth Allison

Job Title: Fundraising Assistant

Background: After graduating from university in 2023, I started off in a corporate graduate role, however after only a couple of months in this position, I felt I needed to take some time to really figure out where I wanted to take the next step in employment, but I knew I wanted to do something fulfilling.

That’s when I came across a Fundraising Apprentice role advertised for St. Rocco’s Hospice. I immediately knew it was for me, as it was a role that would be giving something back to my community. Growing up, my granny volunteered for St. Rocco’s, and some of my early memories involve going with my mum to pick her up or drop her off. I now get to work as part of the fundraising team here at the hospice every day, and I’m grateful to have found a role that I really enjoy.

What does your role involve? My role is varied, supporting all aspects of fundraising. No two days are the same, which is what I love most about my role. I meet so many amazing supporters of St. Rocco’s, and support them in bringing their fundraising ideas to life. This can involve sending out running vests for upcoming marathons, providing collection tubs for local businesses, setting up stalls around Warrington to support at fundraisers, delivering talks about the care we provide, or engaging with local schools. I’m here to support anyone who wants to give back to the hospice.

How has St. Rocco’s supported you as your role developed? Over the past year, I have been completing my Level 3 Fundraiser Apprenticeship alongside my role at the hospice. In November, I was delighted to find out that I passed with a distinction. The team I work with have been incredibly supportive throughout my studies, and I’ve learnt so much from working alongside them.

Since then, I’ve progressed into the role of Fundraising Assistant and have taken on new responsibilities, including our challenge events. So, if you’re an adrenaline junkie or looking to push yourself with a skydive, bungee jump, marathon, or similar challenge, please get in touch!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself: I did a Skydive myself last year!
